ગુજરાત મિડીયા ક્લબ દ્વારા આયોજિત ૧૩મા સ્થાપના દિન અને એવોર્ડ ફંક્શન કાર્યક્રમને સંબોધતા ગુજરાતના મુખ્યમંત્રી વિજય રૂપાણીએ કુદરતી આફતના સમયમાં ગુજરાત મિડીયા દ્વારા બજાવવામાં આવેલી સકારાત્મક ભૂમિકાની પ્રશંસા કરી હતી અને પત્રકારો છેવાડાના લોકો સુધી વિશ્વાસનિય માહિતી પહોંચાડતા રહેશે તેવો વિશ્વાસ વ્યક્ત કર્યો હતો. તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે પત્રકારત્વ એ લોકહિત માટે નોબેલ પ્રોફેશન છે.
