Print English team lifts IndianOil-GMC Cup 2013

Print English team lifted the seventh edition of IndianOil-GMC Cup 2013. The day long tournament held at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad was organized by Gujarat Media Club in association with IndianOil. The eleven-a-side knockout matches between four teams – Print English, Print Language, Electronic Media and Media Associates saw a huge gathering of not only media personnel but also senior bureaucrats, doctors and players from the cricket fraternity along with IndianOil officials from Gujarat state office as well as Western Region Office, Mumbai. Print English captain, Pradeep Mallick accepted the trophy on behalf of the winning team. Chasing 87 off 10 overs by Media Associates, Print Media won with 4 balls to spare in a nail biting finish. Avinash Nair of Print English who made 39 runs, took 4 wickets and fielded splendidly was adjudged Player of the tournament. Harshal Pandya of Electronic Media who bowled 2 overs taking three wickets for 15 runs was the best bowler while Tapas Talukdar from Print English team was declared as best batsman, he scored 33 overall runs in 18 balls. Chief Secretary (Home), Mr. Shivanand Jha ADG (Law & Order, Intelligence), A K Sharma, Joint Commissioner, Crime Branch, Ahmedabad, Mr. Shrikant Bapat, Executive Director (Regional Services) Western Region, IndianOil, Mr. S K Diwan, Executive Director, Gujarat State Office (GSO), IndianOil were present for the toss as well as award presentation.
